During the past 2 pandemic years, learning has been remote for the students of Anecito Panolino Elementary School, as with many children around the world.
Many children do not have a device at home. Therefore, with proceeds from the sale of WoonHung Mia Series, we procured printers and paper for the production of learning materials. Our amazing teachers have been tirelessly distributing these by hand to the students, often sitting with the children to guide them along at home.
We also sent school supplies collected at Essential Extra which continue to be distributed to children during this period of home learning. Pencils, erasers, folders and notebooks in particular have come in handy for studying at home.
We took the opportunity during school closure to install a satellite antenna at school to wire up the classrooms, as previously there was only a slow mobile connection onsite as well as in the surrounding community. This has allowed the teachers better access to learning materials.
Sadly during this period, Typhoon Odette hit the school building and substantial damage was incurred, leaving gaping holes in the classroom roofs. We continue our rebuilding efforts in order to ensure a safe learning environment for the children when in-person learning recommences.
We thank you once again for your support of WoonHung Mia Series and Anecito Panolino Elementary School. Every purchase will help us ensure the rebuilding of classrooms and that the children have access to printed learning materials as well as pandemic necessities such as masks, hand sanitizers and thermometers.
Please note:
The donatino drive, which ran from June 2018 to June 2022 is tempararily halted, as Mia & Lin, the backbone behind this drive, have returned to their home countries. This has evolved into Project Tuon. More details coming.
To everyone of you who contributed, spread the word, coordinated and gave a shoutout to this donation, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you very much. We are so touched by your love and generosity.
