A collaboration between Mia Watanabe and WoonHung, proceeds from the sales of WoonHung Mia Series II will fund Anecito Panolino Elementary School in Passi, Iloilo, Philippines.

Report of Support From Anecito Elementary School 2018
In the 9 months since we launched the Mia series in March 2018, we have sent the school 2 shipments of stationary, kindly donated by the community, so that our students have pencils and pens to study with, a well as create artwork. Most of our students’ families cannot afford to purchase basic stationary for everyday learning, so the items were put to very good use.
We have also used sale proceeds to install television monitors in 6 of the classrooms for our teachers’ use to deliver their lessons. The monitors dramatically transformed the way in which the children learn. They also delighted and amazed the children, as many of them do not have access to television in daily life.
In August, we installed a uniquely designed recycling bin which helps to centralize disposable items and also teaches the children about the importance of the 4Rs of recycling.
Most of our students’ families cannot afford school uniforms. In September, we provided the children with T-shirts with their school logo that they could wear to district meetings, exams, field trips and on other special occasions.
In October, we were excited to be able to finalize the build-out of a handwashing facility for the children, as they previously had nowhere to clean their hands.
Finally, in December, we installed a fence around the school to enhance security and the safety of the children.
We believe the morale and confidence of the children have been boosted by our efforts to make school an exciting, fun and safe place to learn. The results have been spectacular: we had a young lady in 6th grade take top honors in the district math spelling bee, and our girls and boys swept multiple gold, silver and bronze medals in track and field in the district athletic meets.
With your help, we have been able to make sure the children have tools with which to learn, and made the school a cleaner, safer and healthier place. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support for WoonHung Mia series and Anecito Panolino Elementary School.

need pencils, pens, crayons and other stationary you would like to give away.
The school was hit by Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 and other subsequent natural disasters and has never fully recovered.
